    When i was watching a cooking show, i saw this recipe. I was totally impressed by that recipe and made it immediately..It turned out just perfect. Loved it to the core, actually the lady who made this called it as masala paniyaram. But when i browsed in google, i found this name.

    Ingredients for Chettinad Masala Seeyam

    • Whole Urad Dal - ½ cup
    • Raw Rice / Pacharisi - ½ cup
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil - 1 tbsp + for deep frying
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
    • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
    • Ginger - 2 tsp chopped finely
    • Curry leaves a spring

    How to Make Chettinad Masala Seeyam

    1. Soak Whole urad dal and rice in a bowl, soak it for 2 hours.
    2. Drain it and take it in a blender, make it into a fine puree. Pour this into a bowl, add in salt and mix well.
    3. Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard and crackle.
    4. Add in onions, chillies, curry leaves, ginger and saute for a min.
    5. Pour this into the batter and mix well.
    6. Heat oil for deep frying. Drop spoonful of batter in hot oil and fry till golden.
    7. Drain and serve with chutney.
