FAQs

What size tray for a tray bake? ›

Perfect for all your 23 x 30.5cm (12" x 9") traybake recipes, the metal-hard, non-stick coating both inside and out retains its superior food release, even when marked with a knife; just grease the pan well before use and traybakes are released perfectly.

Do you cover sheet pan dinners? ›

There are very few dishes involved in a sheet pan dinner since everything cooks on one tray. As an added bonus, if you cover your baking sheet in parchment paper or aluminum foil, it makes cleanup a breeze. I love the mix of the chicken sausage with the Italian seasonings and fresh veggies.

How deep should a traybake tin be? ›

You really need a shallow tin for a traybake (about 4cm deep). I'm not sure if the square tin you have has a loose base but if it does you could use it and scale the recipe down. If it doesn't have a loose base, unless the cake is dense you may damage it when you remove the cake from the tin.

What tin to use for a traybake? ›

Square/Rectangle Cake Tins

I find they are the perfect depth for all of my traybake whether that is millionaires shortbread, brownies, or cookie bars! I do also often use a 7×11″ brownie tin for some of my recipes and they work just as well for my 9″ square recipes.

What temperature do you cook sheet pan meals at? ›

Temperatures range from 375-400°F for sheet pan meals. Depending on the vegetables and protein you've chosen, it may take anywhere from 35-45 minutes to cook thoroughly. Remember if you've chosen something you know will overcook in that period, you want to add it in later on in the cooking time.

When should you throw out sheet pans? ›

Do You Need a New Sheet Pan? If it's constantly warping, yes, that's a bad thing and you might just need to buy a new, sturdier pan. But if your pan's getting dull or dark, it's actually a good thing because you'll be able to get even more delicious browning.

Can you prep sheet pan meals ahead of time? ›

Sheet pan meal prep recipes are definitely one of my go-to's for easy and efficient prep because you can load them up with veggies, and serve them in so many ways! From breakfast bakes, to buddha bowls, to burrito bowls, pita or wrap filling, and sheet pan dinners, there is so much variety.

What is the average baking tray size? ›

The standard is around 9x5, but you'll also find 8x4, 10x5, and various other iterations. Loaf pans from the grocery store tend to stick closer to 9x5, and feature curved, sloping edges. For a more polished final look with better (i.e. not squat) proportions, go with an 8.5x4.
