If we can globally agree that this landmarking is acceptable, the interoperability challenges associated with passing the humanoid through the product development chain will be solved. Analogous (common to all humans) landmarking also presents a path forward for automated sewing and try-on of virtual products.Most importantly, this landmarking offers a means for quantifying functional ease: how do the dimensions associated with various body regions change as the humanoid moves through a range of poses? This data must be presented according to the ISO standards.There is a common misconception that the measurements from a humanoid in a bike-pose can be used directly for scan to pattern. This is not true from an apparel engineering perspective (required for generative design).Engineered garments must be broken into data sets of humanoid and ease dimensions.
