Mack's, a home style breakfast and lunch restaurant, opened for business on Friday.

Mack's, located in the former home of Culture Fine Food and co*cktails in Babylon, opened for business on Friday.

The restaurant is a "chef driven home style breakfast and lunch place" open Wednesday through Sunday to start from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Basically, almost everything we have is made from scratch," said owner Patrick Mack.

The majority of its food is made in house, he told Patch.

"We don't want anything that's processed," he said.

Mack also owned Culture Fine Food and co*cktails, which opened in 2019 and closed in November 2021.

Mack's, he said, is the "exact opposite" of its predecessor.

While Culture had more of an "industrial feel" and offered dinner entrées and co*cktails, Mack's has a "bright" and "warm" atmosphere, filled with natural light, high ceilings and windows, and plants.

One feels as if they are in "a courtyard," he said.

"Everything inside has been changed for the most part," said Mack. " The structure of the bar is still there, but basically, all the aesthetics inside have been changed."

Although Mack's menu has yet to be released by the public, customers can expect delicious breakfast and lunch items.

Mack told Patch that the biscuits and gravy option is one of his favorites.

"We make all the biscuits from scratch in the back," he said.

Their banana bread French toast is also "out of this world."

Two years after Culture closed, Mack said it's a wonderful feeling to have life at 94 E Main St.

"It feels great to be back in the game. Babylon is a great town, there's so much to offer here," he said. "It's nice to be engaged with the community again, and we're just really excited about it."
