MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - The national money supply (M2 aggregate) in Russia in November 2023 increased 1.4122 trillion rubles, or 1.5%, to 92.5469 trillion rubles, the Bank of Russia said on its website.
The money supply in January-November 2023 increased by 10.1589 trillion rubles, or 12.3%.
The annual growth rate of the money supply by December 1 decreased to a 16-month minimum of 20.4% from 20.5% on November 1.
The volume of cash (M0 aggregate) as part of the money supply in November decreased by 341.1 billion rubles, or 20%, to 16.873 trillion rubles. The decrease in cash volume occurred for the third month in a row, during which it decreased 504.5 billion rubles, or 2.9%, from 17.3775 trillion rubles on September 1. The current volume of cash is the minimum for six months, since June 1, when it was 16.4855 trillion rubles.
Since the beginning of 2023, the volume of cash has increased by 1.4373 trillion rubles, or 9.3%.
The annual cash growth rate on December 1, 2023 decreased to 14.5% from 17.3% on November 1.
The share of cash in the money supply as of December 1 fell to a record low of 18.2% from 18.9% on November 1. The previous time the minimum of this indicator was recorded was on September 1, 2022, when it decreased to 18.4%.
The M2 monetary aggregate includes the M1 monetary aggregate (cash in circulation outside the banking system (monetary aggregate M0) and balances in national currency on settlement, current and other demand accounts belonging to the public, non-financial and financial (except credit) organizations that are residents of Russia) and balances of funds in national currency in the accounts of time deposits and other funds attracted for a period of time from the public, non-financial and financial (except credit) organizations that are residents of Russia.
