Mrs. Brown, wife of the late Bennett A. Brown, retired chairman of the board of NationsBank Corporation, died June 3, 1998. She was a daughter of the late Wallace and Katherine of Columbia. Mrs.

Brown attended the University of South Carolina and traveled abroad extensively. She was employed by Delta Air Lines in Atlanta for several years. During this time, she was introduced to Bennett Brown by mutual friends. They were married in 1957 and together provided leadership in numerous community and cultural activities in Metropolitan Atlanta and South Carolina for four decades. Mrs.

Brown was an avid outdoors person and often enjoyed hunting quail on horseback in South Georgia and participated in hunts in Scotland and England, as well as white wing dove shooting in Mexico. She loved the South Carolina coast, where she and her husband enjoyed a relaxed pace of life with family and friends. Family vacations were spent at Litchfield Beach, where she taught her children and then her grandchildren how to crab and dig clams. When not outside pursuing nature's bounty, she would often be found in the kitchen where she instilled in her children her love of cooking and entertaining. As a native South Carolinian, she loved and appreciated the Lowcountry, as was evidenced by a scenic collection of art, "A stroll through the Lowcoutry of South Carolina" that she and her husband presented to the Infusion Center at the Emory Clinic in July 1997.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, honorary trustee of Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, a member of the Huntington Society and recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest honor. Mrs. McMaster was a member and office holder of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1936, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Surviving are son and daughter-inlaw, John C.
